Delta diverts en-route to Malpensa

Delta Airlines flight DL-74 to Milan Malpensa Airport from Atlanta on the 23 September had to divert to New York JFK due to a cracked windscreen.

The Boeing 767-300, registration N1200K was en-route north of Quebec, when the flight deck reported a cracked right hand windshield and requested to divert to JFK Airport. No emergency was declared.

A replacement Boeing 767-300 registration N187DN departed JFK just 80 minutes after the arrival of N1200K and reached Milan Malpensa Airport with a total delay of 3.5 hours.

SkyTeam New Alliance Livery Malensa

In Milan Malpensa this month, SkyTeam debuted its new alliance livery as Delta Air Lines flight 74 N844MH 767-432(ER) from Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport touched down at Milan’s Malpensa Airport displaying the SkyTeam colors.

All SkyTeam member airlines have committed to paint at least one aircraft with the new SkyTeam livery by the end of this year. The planes will enter service in graduated phases throughout 2009.
